Important notes

  • IRD posted FY 2083/84 rate notices for natural persons and for entities on 22 Shrawan 2083, but their text could not be read during research. Check the slabs against them.
  • Individuals whose only income is salary from one employer do not need to file a return; individuals with income above Rs 40 lakh must file.
  • Presumptive tax (D-01) is for resident individuals with business income up to Rs 3 lakh and turnover up to Rs 30 lakh who are not VAT-registered.
  • The 1% first band is the social security tax. A news report notes exceptions, for example sole-proprietorship business income and pension or contribution-based social security fund income; confirm with IRD.
  • Budget 2083/84 cut the IT export income exemption from 75% to 50% (secondary).
