Bring original documents together with readable photocopies. Names, dates and record details should match across every document.

  • Original citizenship certificate
  • Original migration certificate, if your current address differs from the permanent address on your citizenship
  • Original marriage registration or relationship certificate, if a spouse's name appears on (or must be added to) your record

Important notes

  • The NID card/NIN is now on the passport document list for applications within Nepal and has reportedly been made compulsory for social-security allowances.
  • Corrections are made at the DAO/AAO registration station on the prescribed form; your NIN does not change (DAO Kaski FAQ).
  • eNID PDF password: first four letters of your name in English capitals plus your 4-digit birth year (DAO Kaski FAQ).
  • There is currently no clear legal basis to issue an NID to Nepalis who have taken foreign citizenship (DAO Kaski FAQ).
