Documents you need
Bring original documents together with readable photocopies. Names, dates and record details should match across every document.
- Application (निवेदन) and a copy of your citizenship certificate (नागरिकता प्रमाणपत्रको प्रतिलिपि)
- For minors, a certified copy of the birth registration certificate (जन्म दर्ता प्रमाणपत्र)
- Migration certificate (बसाइँसराइ प्रमाणपत्र), if you moved in from another place
- Receipt for land revenue (मालपोत) and house-land tax or integrated property tax paid up to the current fiscal year, or the approved tax assessment

Step-by-step process

Gather your citizenship certificate (or, for a minor, the birth registration certificate) and a current-year tax receipt.

Submit the application at your ward office's relevant desk.

Staff check the records; a local inquiry (सर्जमिन) is held only where needed.

Pay the service fee at the ward and keep the receipt.
- 5
The ward chair, a ward member or the ward secretary signs the certificate or recommendation.
- 6
Collect it and check every name, date and number against your citizenship certificate before leaving.
